Mary Poppins

Meet Mary Poppins In 2023, Mary Poppins got her happily-ever-after. She was adopted. She had her home. She had her family.

But recently Mary Poppins found herself back in our care...and to say she is heartbroken would be an understatement.

Returning to a shelter environment has been incredibly scary for this sweet girl. Mary Poppins is terrified, overwhelmed, and unsure why her world changed all over again.

Right now, even short walks can feel overwhelming, and our team often has to gently coax her out, one tiny brave step at a time.

But thanks to our incredible volunteer dog walkers - the patient, compassionate humans who show up day after day - Mary is beginning to make slow, meaningful progress.

Each walk. Each kind word. Each moment of patience. It all matters.

Mary Poppins doesn't need perfection right now.
She needs peace.
She needs patience.
She needs a foster home where she can decompress, feel safe, and remember what it's like to be loved in a home again.

This GiveNOLA Day, your donations help us provide lifesaving support for dogs like Mary.
But fostering, volunteering, and simply showing up can be just as powerful.

Because sometimes rescue isn't about grand gestures...Sometimes it's about helping a frightened dog believe in happiness again.

Help us give Mary Poppins her next chapter. Preferably one with fewer shelter walls...
And far more comfort. ??
